Gifted Poets
DUE TO A MISTAKE ON MY PART, PAT'S BIOGRAPHY WAS DELETED AND I DID NOT REALIZE THAT NORMA'S WAS ON HERE TWICE.  PAT WAS GOING TO BE SENDING ME ANOTHER BIO, BUT DUE TO HER SUDDEN AND RECENT DEATH, I WILL ATTEMPT TO RETRIEVE IT FROM A FAMILY MEMBER.  I WILL BE CHANGING THIS PAGE AROUND SO THE THE FORMAT IS ALLIGNED AS IT SHOULD BE.  I WILL BE OPENING A PAGE BY ITSELF FOR PAT, WHEN I AM BETTER ABLE TO HANDLE THE PAIN OF LOSING THIS MOST BEAUTIFUL AND WONDERFUL PERSON IN MY LIFE.  PLEASE BE PATIENT!  SIERRA

On this page I will be introducing two wonderful poets who I want to say are professionals, although, they try to deny it. I will let you be the judge! (I will be adding more soon as time permits, so, stay tuned, the fun has just begun)

This is the second of my two very gifted poets!

I am 62 and I have a passion for writing poetry. Before I could read or write I wrote poetry in my mind.It has been a lifelong pleasure that has kept me sane and happy and I also use it for my most innermost feelings.I was born in a log cabin in the mountains of Ky. For a short while I had a singing career that produced three records. My first marriage produced four children.Only one is still living.I love to paint scenic pictures and make quilts and had a passion for dancing until I became ill three years ago with heart and artery surgeries.I now live on 31 acres of beautiful wooded land in Tenn. where I have a hobby of collecting arrow head points and just enjoying the nature God so graciously gives me.I have four grandchildren and many pets. All my life I have had a deep faith and relationship with God and Jesus. My wonderful second husband of twenty nine years is my constant source of encouragement and love.I have many friends that I met online after starting to use the computer two years ago as therapy for a stroke I had from which I am fully recovered. My main objective is to share my poetry with all who wish to read it.Most is from life experiences and seem sad at times but they are happy memories for me.The picture which accompanies this was taken in Feb.Of 2002.I send love and blessings from God to all who read this.Norma Marek

WILL YOU SPEND TIME WITH ME

Please look beyond my imperfections and see the real me.

I’m loving and caring and if you take the time to see,

You’ll find a woman who is lonely and reaching out to you,

For unconditional friendship that’s true through and through.

I may not be pretty or meet your expectations of what I should be,

But if you take the time to know me I think that you will see,

No truer friend you can find than that which comes from my soul,

And though I am old and filled with pain, friendship is my goal.

You ask,”Have you no children?”..My answere is,”Yes I do,

But they are busy with their lives and the times I see them are few.”

Maybe a call once a week or a wave as they pass by my home,

A gift at Christmas but other than that,I am always all alone.

I could bake you pies and make candy for your lovely kids,

And make you jelly with pretty ribbons tied around the lids.

I may be bent and slow when I try to take a walk,

But there is nothing wrong with the way I can sit and talk.

I can tell you stories from my days of long ,long ago,

I could paint you pictures,oh the beauty they would show.

So won’t you spend some time with me before I pass away,

And make me feel needed for even just today?

I won’t be a bother and take a lot of your time nor make demands.

All I want is to do for others with my loving, caring hands.

So think about what I have said and let me know what you decide.

I’ll wait until I hear from you because all I have is time to bide.

Help Me Bear Her Burdens Lord here I am on bended knees, Thinking about how you made man, ocean and the seas. My heart is so burdened for this wonderful friend, Yet I know on You she can always depend. She's been a true Warrior, along this road of life, A mother, grandmother, friend, and wonderful wife. She's just an ole country girl who deeply loves You Lord, Not much for worldly goods, as many can afford. She's just so thankful for your precious love, For all you've bestowed upon her from up above. She praises You daily for the roof over her head, And for every extra day you awake her from her bed. I know she's continually holding to your unchanging hand, And she knows you will help her to understand. She has been washed clean by the blood of the Lamb, Almighty Father she acknowledgesYou're the Great I Am! Oh Precious Father, her burdens you see, Help me to help her, give them to me. I know I'm nothing, but I do love her much, I'm willing to bear her burden, with the help of Your touch. Her only solace Lord, is in Your Mighty Hand, I know you will help her to understand. Your wonderful Word has been a lamp unto her feet, It's not Your will Lord to see Your child suffer defeat. At times Father it's hard for her to comprehend, How to accept these burdens that come without end. You've told her Your grace is all sufficient for thee, Your Holy Spirit has kept her, and set her completely free. You have been her solid Rock, her friend and guide, All these many years You've stood by her side. Today she needs you more than ever, ever before, Pass by again Lord and show her what's in store. She will never question You, and she knows without a doubt, You've always been there for her, and You'll provide a way out. Please give her the wisdom and heart, to accept whatever Your will, She knows for assurety she'll meet You on Zion's Holy Hill.
